Choose which model powers the AI workspace, “review with AI”, and “ask this paper”. Your key is stored only in this browser and sent with each request to Atlas’s server, which calls the provider on your behalf — it’s never saved on Atlas’s servers.

Semantic search

Embeddings index

Builds vector embeddings of your notes, papers, and highlights so search and the AI workspace can retrieve by meaning. Re-run after adding or editing a lot of content.

Save to Atlas bookmarklet

Drag the button to your bookmarks bar. On any paper, journal, or arXiv page, click it to send the citation to your library — Atlas reads the page's metadata and opens a confirm tab. Your account stays signed in here; the page you're on never sees your credentials.

Spell-check while writingDictionary language

Uses your browser's spell-checker. The dictionary language hints which one to prefer; the browser falls back to its own setting if the chosen one isn't installed.

Vim keybindings

Modal Vim editing in the note editor (normal/insert/visual, :w to save). Off by default.

Single-note mode

Opening a note replaces the one on screen instead of stacking a new tab. Off by default.

Default folder

Where new daily / “today” notes are created.

Auto note mover

Rules file notes into a folder when they match a tag or title. Run them on demand below; the first matching rule wins.
